Job description

About Selina

At Selina Finance, our mission is to provide exceptional value with simple and flexible financial products. We’re achieving this by building a next-generation digital lender targeting homeowners across the UK. More than £2tn of equity value is locked up in UK homes, while homeowners still need to rely on high-interest-rate consumer loans, credit cards, or overdrafts. We believe this is unfair and unnecessary. We offer a financing product unlike anything else out there, one that is as flexible as a current account, as affordable as a mortgage, and as easy to apply for as a consumer loan.

We are building an incredible team and culture of high performance, development, reward and recognition, ready for the next phase of our adventure, and this is where you come in!

We have quite a few things to be proud of:

🌏 We have 19 different nationalities across our London + Manchester offices

🏆 Voted as ‘one of the fastest-growing businesses in the UK’ by Business Leader Growth 500 for 2025

🏆 Voted top 30 of ‘Tempos 100 best start-ups to work for 2023’

🦾 Disability Confident Committed employer

🏆 BCorp Certified

✏️ Rated highly in our employee survey on:

✔Workplace Culture

✔Work Life/Balance

✔Employee Recognition

We’re looking for:

  • A strong generalist who can make sense of complexity and turn it into clean, usable, beautiful interfaces.

  • Someone with a bias for action who can figure things out, ask good questions, and get things done.

  • Craft, attention to detail, and an eye for typography, spacing, and interaction.

You’ll help build a new category of home finance across consumer, broker, and internal tools. This is a small team, so your impact and ownership will be massive. There’s space to lead, learn, and shape how design works here.

As the second product designer at Selina, you’ll work across all surfaces: complex UX flows, user research, evolving our design system, landing pages, emails, ads and maybe even occasional print work (!).

Whilst most of your time will be spent doing deep product design work, we’re after people who just love to design things and are happy to jump in and support across the business.

We care less about your process and more that you ship great stuff.

What will you be doing?

  • Take full design ownership of our broker portal, colleague tooling and customer packaging experience, from UX to interface polish

  • Contribute to major updates to our design system, including the development of new components and the creation of comprehensive documentation.

  • Ship multiple consumer-facing UX improvements that measurably improve application completion.

  • Design and launch landing pages and email flows that support marketing-led growth efforts.

  • Advocate for the voice of the customer and engaged in user research

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with PMs, engineers, compliance, ops, and marketing

  • Lead or facilitate user research or prototype testing to inform a key decision

  • Contribute to our brand expression through marketing visuals, campaigns, or tone-of-voice feedback

  • Be part of design critiques and product strategy sessions with a clear POV

  • Help raise the bar for visual quality and consistency across all Selina interfaces

Job requirements

About you:

  • You have designed for complex, multi-step workflows, not just landing pages or apps-without-depth

  • You’ve owned and delivered projects end-to-end: from problem definition to shipped design

  • You can show strong execution across UX and UI, not just strategy or visual polish

  • Confident working in Figma, using and contributing to component libraries

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and ambiguity is normal

  • Can speak to design decisions clearly in interviews and with cross-functional peers

  • You are self-sufficient and can manage your own work without constant PM direction

  • Curious and always looking to develop, push yourself and embrace new technologies

Nice to have, but not required.

  • Experience in fintech, lending, mortgages, or regulated products

  • Ability to build and manage designs in Webflow

  • Interest in AI tools or generative workflows

  • Comfortable writing clear, concise UX copy when needed

  • Previous work in small product teams where designers wear many hats

  • Exposure to branding, illustration, motion, or 3D

What we offer:

  • £50,000 - £70,000 base salary, dependant on experience

  • 25 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays

  • 30 days’ work-from-anywhere allowance

  • Bi-annual Bonus (discretionary)

  • Volunteering allowance

  • Growth Shares

  • Annual L&D budget

  • Cycle to work scheme

  • 3% pension contribution

  • Monthly socials

  • Free access to mental health support via ‘Spill’

  • A choice of benefits that work for you, courtesy of our benefits platform, ‘Thanks Ben’

  • Annual £60 cycle allowance for Santander cycles or Evans (via ‘Thanks Ben’)

  • Workplace Nursery Benefit, allowing eligible nursery costs to be paid via salary sacrifice
