Job description
About Selina
At Selina Finance, our mission is to provide exceptional value with simple and flexible financial products. We’re achieving this by building a next-generation digital lender targeting homeowners across the UK. More than £2tn of equity value is locked up in UK homes, while homeowners still need to rely on high-interest-rate consumer loans, credit cards, or overdrafts. We believe this is unfair and unnecessary. We offer a financing product unlike anything else out there, one that is as flexible as a current account, as affordable as a mortgage, and as easy to apply for as a consumer loan.
We are building an incredible team and culture of high performance, development, reward and recognition, ready for the next phase of our adventure, and this is where you come in!
We have quite a few things to be proud of:
🌏 We have 19 different nationalities across our London + Manchester offices
🏆 Voted as ‘one of the fastest-growing businesses in the UK’ by Business Leader Growth 500 for 2025
🏆 Voted top 30 of ‘Tempos 100 best start-ups to work for 2023’
🦾 Disability Confident Committed employer
🏆 BCorp Certified

We’re looking for:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate DevOps Engineer to join our platform team. You will be a key player in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that underpins our cutting-edge, cloud-native system.
Our environment is fast-paced, with a focus on automation, stability, and continuous improvement. You will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software frequently and reliably, with over 100 deployments to production each month.
What will you be doing?
Infrastructure Management: Design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Infrastructure as Code principles, primarily with Terraform.
Kubernetes Orchestration: Manage and enhance our Kubernetes clusters, deploying and scaling containerised applications.
CI/CD Pipeline Ownership: Own and improve our CI/CD pipelines built on GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, championing our GitOps methodology for seamless and frequent deployments. You may also support legacy pipelines using Tekton.
System Observability: Enhance our system stability by configuring and managing our comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting stack, which includes Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Alertmanager.
Security & Services: Collaborate on securing our platform by managing secrets with HashiCorp Vault, service-to-service communication with LinkerD, and identity and access management with Keycloak.
Developer Enablement: Collaborate closely with development teams to streamline the deployment of their Java/Kotlin and Python microservices, as well as React-based frontend applications.
AI & Automation: Participate in the operationalisation of our AI-driven automation initiatives, managing infrastructure for self-hosted LLMs using Ollama and integrating with third-party APIs like OpenAI and Gemini.
Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as a subject matter expert for production issues, providing support and ensuring the reliability and performance of our event-driven architecture, utilising Kafka and Redis.
IT support for internal and external users, including but not limited to onboarding/offboarding of user profiles and systems, as well as hardware and software support/troubleshooting.
Support with maintenance of physical office equipment for both our London and Manchester offices, such as meeting room AV equipment or access control systems, and leading resolution efforts with external vendors or service providers as needed.
Job requirements
About you:
Commercial Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering role.
Cloud Proficiency: Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in a production environment.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong proficiency in Terraform for managing cloud resources.
Containerisation & Orchestration: Deep understanding of containerisation and production-grade experience with Kubernetes.
CI/CD & GitOps: Demonstrable experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, with a strong preference for candidates experienced with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps (Android/iOS), including build and distribution workflows
Observability: Solid understanding of monitoring and logging principles with hands-on experience using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
Scripting: Proficiency in scripting for automation tasks, such as Bash, Python, or Go.
Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an agile, fast-paced team.
What Would Be a Bonus (Desirable Skills):
Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message brokers like Kafka or caching systems like Redis.
Experience with service mesh technologies, particularly LinkerD.
Knowledge of managing relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, BigQuery) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

An interest or prior experience in MLOps, especially with LLMs (Ollama, OpenAI/Gemini APIs).
