What you’ll do:


  • Take the lead on all business development efforts for the launch of Selina Finance’s Home FlexiLoan (the “Home FlexiLoan”), our regulated second charge consumer loan, to well-established distributors and Master Brokers across the U.K.
  • Build out a vertical partnerships (non-broker) channel for the Home FlexiLoan across the product’s numerous consumer use-cases (e.g. school fees, weddings, home renovations, medical bills)
  • Frequently attend/host face-to-face meetings, webinars and events to ensure our products are always front of mind with and understood by our distribution partners and their advisors
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the credit policy and packaging process for the Home FlexiLoan, and the process on the Selina Finance platform from case submission to loan completion
  • Work with the relevant internal stakeholders to ensure all marketing collateral (e.g. brochures, webinar slides) and crucial documentation (e.g. packaging guides) required by our distribution partners are up to date
  • Tracking KPIs and taking ownership of reporting (both internal and external) to assess the performance each distribution partner
  • Work closely with the VP of Growth to identify which distribution/vertical partners might be suitable for Selina Finance once the Home FlexiLoan becomes more established in the market, post-launch
  • Ensure that market feedback is communicated constructively to the internal stakeholders (e.g. Credit, Underwriting, and Operations), and actioned where it is vital to the success of distribution partnerships
  • Representing Selina Finance at industry conferences and events to establish key contacts, relationships and connections across the wider sector

Job requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a business development manager (BDM) working closely with the intermediary-led world of finance (ideally mortgages or second charge loans)
  • Confident and can hold your own when presenting in front of experienced industry experts
  • Understanding of the consumer finance landscape in the U.K. and how lenders use different distribution channels to access the market
  • Experience in managing commercial relationships or building partnerships with the aim of generating lendings application for a financial product
  • Able to travel frequently across the U.K. to the various locations where our distribution partners are based (predominantly England and Wales)
  • Able to develop strong relationships with stakeholders across different levels of the partner businesses, from senior decision-makers to junior influencers
  • Strong work ethic, great attention to detail, and a positive, solutions-driven mindset
  • Understanding of how FinTech (both lenders and the underlying technology) is changing the lending market
